Performance

There were 125 Seahawk 34s sold between 1984-8, a further 40 Seahawk 35s from 1988-90 and more than 275 of its various derivatives before the yard finally closed in 1999. We sailed First Dawn Treader, a 1988 MkI Seahawk, out of Gosport on a hot and sultry summer day with a gentle 8-10 knot breeze blowing across the Solent.

To be honest, knowing she isn’t a lightweight, and coupled with the fact that she has a smallish in-mast furling mainsail, I really didn’t expect her to move
