Lifeventure travel towels
Cramming a bath towel in your kitbag is a really thankless task. They are big and bulky and you wouldn’t dream of taking one on a hike. Lifeventure travel towels, however, are smaller and lighter and make excellent travel companions.
The Softfibre travel towel (£19.99) comes in generous sizes – my extra large towel is 130cm x 75cm (packs down to 17cm x 10cm x 4.5cm) and it is claimed it can absorb nine times it’s own weight in water. It dries much faster than cotton – a big plus on a boat – and a ‘Polygiene’ treatment helps to tackle odours.
The Hydrofibre quick-dry towel (£14.99) is even more lightweight. The large was just about big enough at 110 x 65cm but it packs down to little more than the size of a phone (14cm x 9cm x 2cm). It will only really do for a single shower before it needs to be dried but because it’s so thin, it did so quickly. If I’m heading for a walk or a day on the water, this is the towel I pick. For longer trips, I would take the Softfibre towel.
You don’t get that thick-towelling luxury of a cotton towel with either, but you do get something that feels soft, works extremely well, dries quickly and takes up next to no space. www. lifeventure.com
