THE RESTORATION HANDBOOK FOR YACHTS
Enric Roselló, Fernhurst
Samba is a Primrose-designed North Wind 40 glassfibre yacht. She was built in the late 1970s and has the capacity to inspire passion and dedication – the first requirement for a successful restoration project. This is a minutely detailed, intensively photographed book presenting the individual project in discrete sections that will offer guidance to anyone taking a long hard look at the future potential of their own vessel. As someone who still sails with a pink plastic washing-up bowl, I’ll admit to skipping the advice on double sinks, yet Roselló is right in so many key respects – the value of decluttering, of knowing one’s limitations and never putting the toolbox away till the boat is ready for sea.
