Honwave rigid floor DINGHY & outboard

Yachting Monthly - - GEAR OF THE YEAR -

Getting to and from your boat is one of the riskiest parts of sailing. Having a seaworthy tender is essential, but it is always a compromise between the size of the dinghy inflated and its size and weight for stowage when deflated. We tested the Honwave T24-IE2 dinghy with a rigid inflatable floor, coupled with the Honda BF2.3 air-cooled four-stroke outboard. The dinghy’s V-hull and large diameter tubes created a boat with high freeboard and excellent sea-keeping qualities. For its diminutive size (2.4m), we felt comfortably above the water and stayed dry in almost all conditions. It was slightly bulkier when stowed because of the floor, but this felt like a worthwhile compromise. www.honda.co.uk/marine
