A scilly dream
Having sailed west along the south coast many times, the Isles of Scilly have remained tantilisingly out of reach for me on several occasions, with holiday limitations and weather forecasts conspiring against us. Until last year’s golden summer that is. We finally made the passage in almost flat calm, accompanied by myriad cavorting dolphins. It was indeed the stuff of dreams.
It also means I can tick off at least one of the major coastal passages around the British Isles that stands as a true rite of passage for any sailor...
