Expansion for Falmouth’s North Quay

-

An additional 30 berths could be created at Falmouth’s North Quay. Falmouth Harbour Commissioners (FHC) proposes to extend the northwest breakwater, creating room for additional visitor berthing pontoons at Falmouth Haven Marina and freeing up space in the Custom House Quay Basin for smaller craft. There will also be extra berths alongside the access bridge. The pontoon system will be moved 10 metres to the east to create a berth for a floating barge restaurant, as well as a pump-out facility.

The chief executive of the FHC, Mark Sansom, said the £350,000 project would help the port meet ‘strong market demand’ for berths, adding there would be no impact on public anchoring. The project is due to be finished by June 2020, subject to planning permission being granted.
