Liferaft deployment

After reading your MOB article in the January 2020 issue, one solution for recovery, particularly if the MOB is heavy and the remaining crew small in stature and/ or number, is to deploy the liferaft. Obviously the MOB must be conscious and capable of entering the raft, which should stay connected to the boat. Once in the raft the MOB is protected from hypothermia and drowning and has access to provisions. The MOB can be returned to the boat at leisure or if this is difficult, can stay in the liferaft until help arrives or the boat reaches harbour.

This option is rarely if ever mentioned. Am I missing something? Dr Tim Lewis
