JESSIE ROGERS
A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Jessie Rogers, 50, started offshore sailing in 1995 living on boats and working on conservation projects. She worked on Jérôme Poncet’s 65ft ketch Golden Fleece, sailing from the Falklands to South Georgia to film a BBC documentary on the island. Jessie, along with husband Kit Rogers, then secured a contract to provide a filming platform for the making of the first BBC Blue Planet series. The 53ft ketch Silurian was their home for nearly three years of filming.
