One in every port
Duncan Kent’s excellent article (YM, March 2021) prompts me to recall a conversation I had with Paul Gelder, then editor of YM, who was extolling the virtues of the Nicholson 32. He told me of an interview he conducted with a millionaire aboard his Nic 32 when he asked why he sailed such a small boat when he could easily afford a Nic 132.
Came the reply: ‘Well, I like the 32 so
I have seven of them, one in Sydney, one in San Francisco, one in Rio de Janero, one in Vancouver, this one, one in..!’
