■ Warm sleeping bags for overnight adventures

■ Layers, layers and extradry layers and thermals

■ A decent windproof jacket is all often that’s required

■ For the cold they usually wear ski suits (second hand)

■ Plenty of socks as kids will walk on wet decks in them

■ Spare waterproofs for when their main ones are drying
