Extraordinary cruising achievements
The Royal Cruising Club (RCC) was ‘delighted by the extraordinary variety’ of cruising logs entered into its annual awards, having expected the COVID year to be a barren one.
The Challenge Cup for an outstanding cruise went to Richard and Jane Kingsnorth, whose journey from Antigua to the UK on Starlight 39 Zwailer via lesser-visited parts of the Caribbean, was hampered by lockdowns; The Romola Cup recognised Martin and Stephanie Fuller’s engaging account of a North Atlantic circuit on Starlight 39 Sandpiper; The Founder’s Cup celebrated Chris Elliot’s Western Isles adventures in Eclipse 33 Otter; The Claymore Cup went to Miranda Delmar-morgan who sailed Najad 39 Pelonia around Britain. Skip Novak’s log won the Goldsmith Exploration Award.
