EDINBURGH FOOD FESTIVAL:

Celebratin­g the best of Scottish food and drink, from gelato to smoked salmon and Scottish heather honey, this free festival is held at the city’s George Square Gardens and will run from 23 July-1 August 2021. www.edfoodfest.com

WHITSTABLE OYSTER FESTIVAL:

This Kent fishing village is world renowned for its fat, juicy native oysters, best enjoyed freshly shucked with a squeeze of lemon. The festival features oyster landing and an eating competitio­n, as well as a regional food fair. 27-30 August 2021. www.whitstable­oysterfest­ival.co.uk

DORSET SEAFOOD FESTIVAL,

WEYMOUTH: The aim of the Dorset Seafood Festival is to encourage visitors to try different species of fish as well as more well known seafood such as fresh-out-ofthe-water oysters and crab. Held in Weymouth. 11-12 September 2021. www.dorsetseaf­ood.co.uk

A TASTE OF WEST CORK, IRELAND:

CONWY HONEY FAIR, WALES:

One of the oldest food festivals in the British Isles, the fair started in the 13th century and marks when local beekeepers were first given the right to sell honey in Conwy, without charge.
