Why restore a boat?
For the second time I am restoring a boat, a Nicholson 35. Some have asked why I don’t just spend the money on a newer boat. There are many reasons, including my love of the old-fashioned seakeeping qualities of older vessels, but the most important one is that I can make the boat exactly the way I want her. I won’t deny that sometimes I am lost but it is incredibly satisfying once each project is finished. You just need to make sure you plan well, both in terms of time and money.
