MERVYN WHEATLEY

A veteran offshore sailor, Mervyn has competed both singlehanded and with crews, as well as clocking up 19 Atlantic crossings. The former Royal Marine has taken part in five OSTARS, seven solo Azores and Back Races (AZABS) and five Round Britain races. Mervyn skippered the Clipper 60 Thermopylae in the 1996 Clipper Round the World Race. He is a member of the Royal Western Yacht Club in Plymouth and the Royal Cruising Club.
