This was one of the most impressive new launches we saw at Düsseldorf – indeed Magnus Rassy describes it as “the best boat we have ever built”. The new generation Frers hull shape packs in the volume, in a design that will especially suit couples looking to sail offshore. It has plenty of beam and power, controlled by deep twin rudders and it boasts a light,airy and inviting oak interior.

Discovery Yachts chose the Düsseldorf Boat Show to present an unusual version of its Revelation 48, a slightly longer update on the old Southerly 47.

The model shown is highly customised, particularly with regards to the lower saloon layout which is designed to suit daysailing in the Mediterranean rather than the bluewater pursuits of typical Discovery owners.

It made an opportune chance for the Marchwood yard to show how flexible it can be with its builds and to showcase the skills of its joinery team – the dark walnut finish is particularly impressive.
