Ice Yachts predicts this formidable new fast cruiser will be capable of 30-knot speeds. Even under twin 110hp engines it can canter along at over 14 knots. Construction will be in full carbon with infused epoxy and Corecell foam, together with carbon mast, boom and rigging.
The Milan-based yard has some form with large multihulls now, having recently built 61ft and 67ft models. The Icecat 72 is once again a made in Italy collaboration, with naval architecture by Umberto Felci and styling from the eclectic designer Lucio Micheletti, who enjoys producing fine pencil sketches with his projects. Plans are also in place for a 62ft sistership.
