Lia Ditton breaks rowing record
After three months alone at sea, yachtswoman and adventurer Lia Ditton has set a new women’s world record for rowing solo from the US to Hawaii. The 40-year-old Brit took 86 days and 10 hours, breaking Roz Savage’s 2008 record of 100 days. Ditton logged around 2,700 miles on the crossing and suffered two capsizes, a shortage of food and persistent adverse currents and winds.
