AUTOMOTIVE RETAILER Pendragon is to launch a new accelerator programme for trainee vehicle technicians, with an intake in Leeds.

Trainees on the programme will work for top Evans Halshaw dealerships, learning from experienced colleagues.

Aimed at those fresh out of college or about to finish an apprenticeship, with a relevant formal qualification, the programme will take newly-qualified or semiskilled technicians on an accelerated programme to help jumpstart their career.

Andrew Waggot, aftersales director at Pendragon, said: “We are excited to be launching our Technician Accelerator programme in Leeds.

“This new scheme is a fantastic opportunity for junior technicians to fast forward their career.

“They will have the opportunity to learn from experienced team members in a fast-paced environment and be able to build on their skills and knowledge to get a head start in their careers.

“Technicians are a key part of the aftersales function, ensuring customer satisfaction and the very best in quality.

“The programme is a first for us, and will allow us to recruit and retain the most talented technicians.”
