Seventy new jobs as the­big­word ex­pands

Lan­guage ser­vices provider the­big­word has cre­ated nearly 70 jobs at its Leeds head­quar­ters af­ter a se­ries of ma­jor new busi­ness wins with cus­tomers across the world.

By the end of July, the com­pany will em­ploy more than 600 peo­ple at its head­quar­ters, mak­ing it one of the largest pri­vate sec­tor em­ploy­ers in the UK city.

the­big­word serves many of the big­gest and best-known in­ter­na­tional brands and a grow­ing num­ber of UK and US gov­ern­ment or­gan­i­sa­tions.

As a re­sult of new con­tracts in the tech­nol­ogy, jus­tice and char­ity sec­tors, the­big­word is re­cruit­ing for roles in op­er­a­tions, sales, mar­ket­ing and tech­nol­ogy.

It is en­cour­ag­ing univer­sity grad­u­ates to ap­ply for tech­nol­ogy roles in ma­chine trans­la­tion and re­lated fields.

The com­pany is in­vest­ing in work­place en­gage­ment pro­grammes to help at­tract and re­tain tal­ent and fur­ther boost pro­duc­tiv­ity. Ini­tia­tives cover well­be­ing, pay and ben­e­fits, per­sonal growth, CSR and team devel­op­ment.

The new con­tract wins in­clude a ma­jor deal to sup­ply white-la­bel lan­guage ser­vices on be­half of a multi-na­tional tech­nol­ogy cor­po­ra­tion.
