In­vest­ment man­age­ment firm Brown Shipley has added a new client man­ager to its lend­ing team. Daniel Por­te­ous joins the Manch­ester of­fice as the busi­ness con­tin­ues to bol­ster its lend­ing ex­per­tise as part of its fully in­te­grated wealth man­age­ment strat­egy. Along­side client direc­tor Paul Spann he will also of­fer sup­port to the Leeds team as part of his new role. Mr Por­te­ous has more than 10 years’ of pri­vate bank­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. He joins from Han­dels­banken.


Three new staff have joined over­seas trade spe­cial­ist Cham­ber In­ter­na­tional with the team able to speak 12 dif­fer­ent lan­guages. Fiorella Du­ranRobin­son, Sam Lazkani and Inga Keire, who have joined the client ser­vices team, will help Cham­ber In­ter­na­tional meet grow­ing de­mand for more com­plex ex­port ad­vice from com­pa­nies through­out York­shire and the UK. The new ad­vis­ers will meet de­mand for re­search, in­clud­ing ac­cess to new mar­kets.


Peter McCann, for­mer prin­ci­pal and chief ex­ec­u­tive of Kirklees Col­lege and in­terim prin­ci­pal at North Shrop­shire Col­lege, has been ap­pointed as chair­man of leading dis­tance learn­ing provider The Skills Net­work ( TSN). In his new po­si­tion, Mr McCann will use his wealth of fur­ther ed­u­ca­tion ex­pe­ri­ence and lead­er­ship skills to fur­ther strengthen TSN’s part­ner­ships with col­leges and fur­ther ed­u­ca­tion part­ners. Mr McCann has had a long ca­reer in the ed­u­ca­tion sec­tor that in­cludes for­mer po­si­tions as deputy prin­ci­pal at Leeds City Col­lege.


Bor­ough­bridge­based land­scape sup­plier Green­tech has wel­comed two new starters, tak­ing its num­ber of new re­cruits in this fi­nan­cial year to 16. The two starters are Dan Hil­dreth who has joined as a dis­patch co- or­di­na­tor in the op­er­a­tions de­part­ment and Sam Rod­dam who has joined the ware­house team. Green- tech has also an­nounced that Lizzy Rose has been pro­moted to mar­ket­ing man­ager tak­ing over from Kate Humes who has become mar­ket­ing direc­tor.


Arbuthnot Bank­ing Group has an­nounced An­drew Sal­mon as its new CEO with im­me­di­ate ef­fect. The role is in ad­di­tion to his cur­rent re­spon­si­bil­i­ties as group chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer and head of busi­ness de­vel­op­ment. Mr Sal­mon has been on the board of Arbuthnot Bank­ing Group since March 2004. Mr Sal­mon will be sup­ported by two deputy chief ex­ec­u­tives, James Cobb, group fi­nance direc­tor and Stephen Fletcher who joined Arbuthnot Latham in Septem­ber 2015.
