Investment management firm Brown Shipley has added a new client manager to its lending team. Daniel Porteous joins the Manchester office as the business continues to bolster its lending expertise as part of its fully integrated wealth management strategy. Alongside client director Paul Spann he will also offer support to the Leeds team as part of his new role. Mr Porteous has more than 10 years’ of private banking experience. He joins from Handelsbanken.
Three new staff have joined overseas trade specialist Chamber International with the team able to speak 12 different languages. Fiorella DuranRobinson, Sam Lazkani and Inga Keire, who have joined the client services team, will help Chamber International meet growing demand for more complex export advice from companies throughout Yorkshire and the UK. The new advisers will meet demand for research, including access to new markets.
Peter McCann, former principal and chief executive of Kirklees College and interim principal at North Shropshire College, has been appointed as chairman of leading distance learning provider The Skills Network ( TSN). In his new position, Mr McCann will use his wealth of further education experience and leadership skills to further strengthen TSN’s partnerships with colleges and further education partners. Mr McCann has had a long career in the education sector that includes former positions as deputy principal at Leeds City College.
Boroughbridgebased landscape supplier Greentech has welcomed two new starters, taking its number of new recruits in this financial year to 16. The two starters are Dan Hildreth who has joined as a dispatch co- ordinator in the operations department and Sam Roddam who has joined the warehouse team. Green- tech has also announced that Lizzy Rose has been promoted to marketing manager taking over from Kate Humes who has become marketing director.
Arbuthnot Banking Group has announced Andrew Salmon as its new CEO with immediate effect. The role is in addition to his current responsibilities as group chief operating officer and head of business development. Mr Salmon has been on the board of Arbuthnot Banking Group since March 2004. Mr Salmon will be supported by two deputy chief executives, James Cobb, group finance director and Stephen Fletcher who joined Arbuthnot Latham in September 2015.
