Event will promote York as business base
BUSINESS leaders will attend an event later this month which celebrates the strength of North Yorkshire’s corporate world.
York Business Week will begin with an event on November 13 at York Racecourse which will feature leading names from the business world. The event will aim to promote York as a leading business destination.
A spokesman said: “All the speakers will have a connection to York – they will live here, work here or have set up a business here – and all will have a world-class story to tell.”
Hosted by Jon Hammond, the former BBC journalist and Governor at York St John University, the speakers will include William Derby, the chief executive of York Racecourse, and Richard Harpin, founder and CEO of Homeserve.
Other speakers include Tim Leigh, the marketing director of Stage One, and Andrew Swift, the CEO of Fera Science.
York Business Week is being delivered by Make It York, the city’s official destination management organisation.
