AN award-winning comin­gof-age film opens in Leeds this month. Tom­boy tells the story of a 10-year-old girl who moves to a new area and is mis­taken for a boy. She car­ries on the cha­rade among her new friends and spends a whole sum­mer in her new iden­tity.

The film won both the Teddy Spe­cial Jury Award at this year’s Ber­lin Film Fes­ti­val, and the Golden Duke, at the Odessa In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val. Tom­boy opens at the Hyde Park Pic­ture­house on Septem­ber 23. For tick­ets call the box of­fice on 0113 275 2045.
