Girl who plays at being a boy
AN award-winning comingof-age film opens in Leeds this month. Tomboy tells the story of a 10-year-old girl who moves to a new area and is mistaken for a boy. She carries on the charade among her new friends and spends a whole summer in her new identity.
The film won both the Teddy Special Jury Award at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, and the Golden Duke, at the Odessa International Film Festival. Tomboy opens at the Hyde Park Picturehouse on September 23. For tickets call the box office on 0113 275 2045.
