Fes­ti­val screens Al-daradji film

THE lat­est movie from Leeds di­rec­tor Mo­hamed Al-Daradji is be­ing screened to Cana­dian au­di­ences at the Toronto In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val this week.

Al-Daradji, who won world­wide ac­claim for his Iraqishot movie Son of Baby­lon, has di­rected his lat­est film, In My Mother’s Arms, with his brother Atia Al-Daradji. The film tells the story of stu­dent Husham, who works tire­lessly to build the hopes, dreams and prospects of the 32 dam­aged chil­dren of war un­der his care at a small or­phan­age in Bagh­dad’s most dan­ger­ous district.
