THE pro­duc­tion of Swal­lows and Ama­zons by Bris­tol Old Vic ar­rives at West York­shire Play­house next month.

Based on Leeds-born Arthur Ran­some’s sto­ries, the new mu­si­cal play, with book by He­len Ed­mund­son, fea­tures songs by The Divine Com­edy’s Neil Han­non.

The show opened in Bris­tol in 2010 be­fore trans­fer­ring to the West End. Set in 1929, it fol­lows the Walker and Black­ett chil­dren as they spend their hol­i­days in the Lake Dis­trict.
