Poets make waves be­side the sea­side Alan Ben­nett to head­line fes­ti­val

A NEW po­etry walk is be­ing launched in Scar­bor­ough to­mor­row.

Fea­tur­ing work in­spired by the town and the coast, those in­ter­ested can pick up an mp3 player, head­phones and il­lus­trated map from the Stephen Joseph Theatre.

To mark the start of the walk, the Live Canon En­sem­ble will be per­form­ing var­i­ous works which fea­ture in the tour at the theatre from 3pm to­mor­row. For more de­tails call 01723 37054. 1 ALAN Ben­nett will head­line this year’s Leeds Big Book­end fes­ti­val .

The play­wright and na­tional trea­sure, who spent his early years in Armley be­fore se­cur­ing a place at Ox­ford Univer­sity, will be talk­ing about his ca­reer on stage and screen.
