Pioneering artist returns to Leeds
PIONEERING painter Martin Froy will return to Leeds with a new art exhibition.
In the 1950s, Froy was the first painter to receive the University of Leeds’s Gregory Fellowship which was launched to foster artistic talent. Now 60 years later, the university has invited the artist back next month to showcase the work which first caught the attention of the committee.
Martin Froy and the Figurative Tradition will be open to the public at the university’s Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery from May 7 to August 2.
