Lynda La Plante to ap­pear at fes­ti­val Isle of Man vis­its pro­vide novel idea

Record Mir­ror AWARD-WIN­NING screen­writer Lynda La Plante will be ap­pear­ing at this year’s Theak­stons Old Pe­culier Crime Writ­ing Fes­ti­val in Har­ro­gate.

The brains be­hind tele­vi­sion show Wid­ows and Prime Sus­pect, who was the first non­sci­en­tist to be given an Hon­orary Fel­low­ship with the Foren­sic Sci­ence So­ci­ety, La Plante also has a new novel out. She will be dis­cussing Twisted at the fes­ti­val on July 19. 01423 562303. A FOR­MER di­rec­tor of com­mu­ni­ca­tions to the Arch­bishop of York has re­leased his sec­ond book.

Ker­ron Cross’s A Dark Stranger’s Guide to the Isle of Man, which is avail­able through Ama­zon, was in­spired by his own ex­pe­ri­ences of vis­it­ing the is­land where his mother was born. His next book – a side­ways look at Bri­tish pol­i­tics – is due out next year ahead of the Gen­eral Elec­tion.
