New production of Bizet’s Carmen
AN award-winning opera producer is to bring the stunning architecture of Seville to the stage. Ellen Kent returns with a production of Bizet’s Carmen, featuring Caspian, a white Andalucian stallion, and a rescue donkey. After critically acclaimed tours of Madama Butterfly, Traviata and Rigoletto, Kent brings the heat and passion of Spain in this production of Carmen that tells the story of a gypsy girl who seduces a soldier into deserting the army, leading to her own murder.
