Work of ground breaking artist
HARROGATE’S 108 Fine Art gallery is staging a major retrospective of the paintings and works on paper of artist Alan Davie who died last year at the age of 93.
The show features forty pictures covering the period 1948-2012 and will include rare and previously unseen works.
Davie was a hugely influential figure in the development of Abstract Expressionism in Britain and was admired by fellow artists Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and David Hockney.
The show runs from August 1 to September 19.
