Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (15)
British director Paul W S Anderson kick-started the Resident Evil film series in 2002 with Ukrainian-born actress Milla Jovovich cast in the role of feisty warrior Alice.
Since then, there have been four blood-soaked sequels of diminishing purpose and Anderson has married his leading lady. The sixth iteration of zombie-slaying mayhem promises to be the final nail in the franchise’s coffin, but since the films have generated in excess of one billion US dollars and counting, don’t be surprised if Resident Evil: The Final Chapter turns out to be a misnomer. The story unfolds shortly after events of Resident Evil: Retribution. Alice (Jovovich) has been betrayed once again by arch villain Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts), one of the shadowy figures behind the Umbrella Corporation, which developed the T-Virus and transformed most of humanity into the slavering undead.
The Corporation’s computer system, The Red Queen (Ever Gabo Anderson), makes contact with Alice and urges her to return to the epicentre of the outbreak, The Hive. Alice eventually agrees, but as she makes her way back to Raccoon City, she is captured first by Dr Alexander Isaacs (Iain Glen) and later by a ragtag group of survivors which includes her old ally, Claire Redfield (Ali Larter).
