Lexus unveils a dashing duo of high performers
LOTS of news from the Lexus luxury brand, including a revised IS model with better economy and emissions, a rapid response 40GB navigation unit and DABready audio.
Prices start at £24,350 for the 220d SE. Taking a cue of sorts from the high performance IS F is the F-Sport with 18 inch wheels, an IS F type front grille and rear spoiler, sports seats and so on.
The IS 250 F-Sport also has lowered suspension. Prices: from £28,290 for the 220d version. The navigation is £2,350 and DAB audio would add £360.
Meanwhile, part two: Lexus announced that just 50 of the world total of 500 LFA supercoupé model will be offered with a Nurburgring pack to mark the car’s entry in a race there next month.
Power goes up to “more than 562bhp”, gearshift times are reduced to 0.15 seconds and the 0-62mpg time is now 3.7 seconds, with a max of 202mph thanks to more downforce.
The LFA has a midmounted 4.8 litre V10 engine in a carbon fibre body. Production of the retail cars begins in December. The deposit is 25,000 euros and the likely end cost is £336,000. Order now to avoid missing out
