Verdicts: These Maseratis are coveted and covetable. The response of other motorists, cyclists, bikers, hikers, vigilant car-park people, everyone, validates the success of the design. Much as I like open cars, I preferred the dynamics of the coupé. It is 100kg lighter, handled better, braked more efficiently – in comparison after the coupé, the Cabrio felt under-braked. The Cabrio also has some structural noises over moorland terrain but if you want to make a grand arrival in sunny weather, there is nothing at this price to match the Cabrio, and you get even more of the exhaust sounds.
