Fer­rari feels the heat af­ter cars ig­nite

Fires have been af­flict­ing that most fiery of brands, Fer­rari. In the first to­tal re­call in its his­tory, the com­pany is call­ing in all 1,248 Fer­rari 458 Italia mod­els.

Only a few have caught fire af­ter ad­he­sives in the whee­larches have made con­tact with the ex­haust pipe. The com­pany is mak­ing free mod­i­fi­ca­tions.

Kia also has heat is­sues with some ver­sions of its Soul and Sorento.

It says a po­ten­tial fault has been iden­ti­fied in a small sec­tion of the door wiring loom that con­trols the “mood” light­ing in Soul and Sorento mod­els. The fix should take no more than an hour. It says 73 Soul mod­els and 476 Sorento KX-3 ve­hi­cles are in­volved in Bri­tain.

Mean­while, in an in­dus­try sur­vey by the Re­tail Mo­tor In­dus­try Fed­er­a­tion, Kia fran­chises are rated equal with Audi and Land Rover for value and best for re­turn on in­vest­ment.
