MX-5 looks to the record books

Yorkshire Post - Motoring - - NEWS -

MAZDA’S MX-5 reached the 900,000 mark last week. It first went on sale in April 1989 and came to Britain two years later. We take 10 per cent of production.

Mazda has asked Guinness World Records to revalidate the model as the world’s biggest selling two-seater sports car of all time.

Mazda was clever in spotting a huge gap in the market as traditional, mostly British, mass-produced sports cars faded away.
