Crash tests go electric
MITSUBISHI’S MiEV is the first electric plug-in vehicle to undergo the Euro Ncap crash tests. It got four out of a possible five stars. The car’s creditable rating shows that safety does not need to be compromised in zero-emissions vehicles, says the testing organisation. The rating is also shared by the near-identical Citroen C-Zero and Peugeot iOn. Euro NCAP tests plug-in vehicles with live batteries, with attention to electrical safety after a collision.
