Porsche piles on the power for lucky 600
MORE news from the Nürburgring where this road-legal Porsche has lapped the Nordschleife section in 7 minutes and 27 seconds.
The model is the 911 GT3 RS 4.0, a limited edition of 600 based on the GT3 RSR track racer.
The flat-six, 4.0-litre sports engine, the biggest 911 engine ever, is also the most powerful naturally aspirated engine with 125 ps/litre. It achieves its maximum power of 500ps (493bhp) at a scorching 8,250 rpm and maximum torque of 339 lb ft at 5,750 rpm.
With a six-speed manual sports transmission, it sprints to 62mph from a standing start in 3.9 seconds and, with its gearing designed for the racing circuit, takes it to 124mph in less than 12 seconds.
Details include Carrera White paint and extra downforce of 190kg at top speed on the front axle, helped by lateral air deflectors.
The Clubsport package – comprising half-roll cage, seat-belt harnesses, fire extinguisher, battery cut-off switch – is standard.
On sale this July, from £128,466.
