‘Roar’ power of a BMW with wow factor wasted on everyday roads
Places like the Smallbore Bar thrive on chatter about cars, golf, horses, even beer. A BMW M-series places the driver in a rarer milieu. I would love one of these cars because it is compact and keen.
I would never buy one because most of the roads I drive on are as quickly managed in an ordinary car. Just posing in town or at the pub is a waste. It wants to be on long stretches of relatively quiet country blacktop. Barreling through Glencoe or riding the undulations of Northumberland or the dual carriageway over Bodmin Moor. Sometimes speed limits seem so annoying.
