Avant garde Audi leads way with high-tech power plant
torque vectoring and aids the undoubted stability on sharp corners taken at speed.
A first on this model is the adaptive air suspension which has five different settings to suit all driving and body styles. It allows the ride height to be lowered by 20mm – making the RS6 more aerodynamic as well as giving it a more purposeful stance.
But at price close on £78,000 you’d expect a number of visual ooh, aah moments and there are plenty of those. Sports seats, flat bottomed three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, illuminated entry sills and the optional but very cool heads-up display which not only puts the speed directly in the driver’s eye-line but also includes satellite navigation instructions.
The RS6 Avant will be the star turn in showrooms from next month.
FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS: The powerful V8 engine of the RS6 Avant can become a V4 at low revs, saving on fuel and emissions.
