Where no Octavia has gone before

Yorkshire Post - Motoring - - MOTORING NEWS -

IT’S BEEN a busy time for Skoda. Not only have we seen the launch of the Octavia hatch, estate and sporting models, now we have an improved version of the go-anywhere model, the Octavia Scout.

This is the most versatile member of the family and comes with various innovations in technology and equipment.

It launches with two engine variants and state-of-the-art all-wheel-drive technology. Ground clearance has been increased by 30mm compared to the estate. It means it can cope with rough terrain and has good climbing capability, a high towing capacity and numerous ‘Simply Clever’ features from Skoda.

It comes with LED lights, silver-coloured underbody protection at front and rear and protection for the undercarriage including brake and fuel lines.

Octavia Scout has a electronic hydraulic multi-plate clutch which makes for better off-road driving and it has better ramp angles meaning it can cope with rougher ground.

Both the front and rear axle are fitted with an electronic differential lock (EDL) as standard. EDL allows the car to pull away smoothly on difficult surfaces.

Prices will be announced shortly.
