All-new Civic aims tosetthe pace for its class

Yorkshire Post - Motoring - - MOTORING NEWS -

CIVIC HAS a job on its hands but Honda believe the latest model is the most dynamic and sophisticated version yet.

It has to be, considering the excellent quality of its rivals, so Honda has been at great pains to make the new model sporty, fresh and distinctive.

But it is arguably the best driver’s car in the five-door market.

It has been newly engineered from the ground up with an all-new platform developed for what Honda calls ‘an engaging and dynamic driving experience’.

It also features new 1.0 litre and 1.5 litre VTEC Turbo petrol engines designed to be sporty yet clean.

This is the 10th generation of a model which goes back 40 years.

It represents a significant step forward for Honda in the C-segment, benefiting from the largest single model global development programme in the company’s history.

This car is also billed as the sportiest Civic ever and sets new benchmarks for the compact class in terms of dynamic performance, fuel efficiency, spaciousness, safety and interior quality.

New Civic is longer, wider and lower than any of its predecessors.

The seating position is a major change against the ninth generation car, sited lower to give the driver a greater feeling of connection.

The Honda SENSING suite of advanced safety and driverassistive technologies available across the range ensures the car is among the safest in its class.

The new Civic five-door hatchback will be built in Europe at Honda’s UK manufacturing facility and exported globally.
