Rents are downon last year’s figures
Rents in Yorkshire remained stable in March, standing at an average of £535pcm, but year-on-year rents are down 9.3 per cent.
Rents in Leeds fell by 1.5 per cent to £517pcm and are now 14 per cent lower than in March 2009, according to Finaproperty.com, and Sheffield suffered a 4.6 per cent fall in rents to £514pcm, 4.8 per cent lower than a year ago.
The number of properties available to rent fell by 7.5 per cent. Nigel Lewis, property expert at FindaProperty.com, says: “Having enjoyed a renaissance since Christmas, rents in Yorkshire have stalled in March.”
