Lots to celebrate for Auction House
AUCTION House has just sold its 2,000th property and is the first auctioneer in the UK to achieve the total this year.
David Pank, of Manning Stainton, brought the hammer down on the successful lot, which was Ashfield House, a 17bedroom Grade II-listed former nursing home in Thornton, West Yorkshire.
The property had been guided at £175,000-£225,000, but eventually sold for £341,000.
Auction House founding director Roger Lake added: “We originally expected to sell our 2,000th lot in early December, as we did last year, but the sheer number of lots being listed with us and our 79 per cent success rate this year has meant that we reached our target six weeks early.”
