Ilkley prices pass their 2007 peak
PROPERTY in most spa towns continues to outperform other areas, according to a new study by Savills.
A number of the sought-after towns have now surpassed their values in 2007, when the market peaked before falling in the recession.
Tunbridge Wells is the top performer with values at 12.8 per cent above those in 2007. In Yorkshire, Ilkley is the major success story with house prices now 7.2 per cent higher than their previous peak.
Harrogate’s are 1.1 per cent below, while Knaresborough’s are 6.1 per cent down and Scarborough’s 11.1 per cent lower.
