Manchester leads price rises in North
CITIES: The latest Hometrack UK Cities House Price Index reveals that house price growth in London has fallen to 6.4 per cent but prices there are still 85 per cent higher than in 2009. Bristol remains the fastest growing city in the Index with annual growth holding steady at 9.5 per cent, although it is down from a high of 14 per cent recorded in June 2016. Manchester is registering the greatest uplift with an increase of 8.3 per cent. Leeds showed an 5.5 per cent annual growth and a 0.9 per cent uplift in January. Sheffield prices increased by four per cent annually with a 0.1 per cent fall in January.
