Asking prices on the up in Yorkshire
NEW FIGURES: Yorkshire asking prices rose 1.7 per cent over the past month and 2.2 per cent year-on-year, according to the latest Rightmove House Price Index. The average house price is now £177, 702. The Midlands property market was the UK’s hottest. The average UK asking price for newly-listed homes increased by 1.3 per cent in March but the East and West Midlands led the way with rises of 2.1 per cent. This led them to outstrip the South East and London, where asking prices were up two per cent and 1.4 per cent in the month to mid-March. Rightmove says the uplift is due to a shortage of suitable property for sale.
