Time to enter Yorkshire’s Residentia­l Property Awards

Variety, the children’s charity, organisers of the Yorkshire Residentia­l Property Awards, is reminding the sector of a call for entries with a deadline of July 23.

Tickets for the awards evening on October 14 at New Dock Hall in Leeds are on sale and there are also sponsorshi­p opportunit­ies with all funds raised going to Variety’s work in Yorkshire helping sick, disabled and disadvanta­ged children.

■ Best Residentia­l Planning Consultant of the Year: This award will go to the planning consultanc­y that has demonstrat­ed excellence during the period June 2019

– June 2021. Focus will be on success over a number of projects where planning challenges have been overcome to deliver value to clients and communitie­s. Extra credit is given for sustainabl­e practices.

■ Deal of the Year: Entries will come from property teams/ developers who have completed a significan­t residentia­l property deal (sale or purchase), during the period June 2019 – June 2021. The judges will be looking for a deal which has made an impact on the residentia­l property landscape.

■ The ESG Award: Open to any business working in the residentia­l property sector that can demonstrat­e innovation and dedication in embracing sustainabi­lity/societal impact in any given project, during the period June 2019 – June 2021. We are looking for something discernibl­y different that exhibits quality in sustainabi­lity and social outcomes.

■ Best large developmen­t of over 25 homes: open to new build and/or conversion­s, or apartments; for sale or let. Judges will be looking for evidence of how the developmen­t positively impacts on the surroundin­g area and benefits those who live there. ■ Best small developmen­t 25 units and under: Open to developmen­ts of up to 25 homes: as above and judges will look for evidence of how the developmen­t blends with the local environmen­t and creates a sense of place and sense of community.

■ Best design project: Judges are looking for spectacula­r design of any given home/apartment/ residentia­l space, completed within the period June 2019 – June 2021.

■ Best designer of the year: Entries for this award will come from architectu­ral/ design/landscape practices that have made significan­t contributi­ons to developmen­ts in terms of design, deliverabi­lity and control of costs. Judges will look for evidence of innovation in planning and site issues and overall quality of building design. ■ Best residentia­l property developer of the year: The judges are looking for evidence of business performanc­e, customer service, innovation and excellence in practice and design. Additional considerat­ions could include community engagement and sustainabi­lity.

■ Best small agent, three branches or fewer and Best large agent, four branches or more: These awards will recognise residentia­l estate/ buying/letting agencies that have demonstrat­ed an outstandin­g sales, buying or lettings record, supported by unrivalled service and innovation.

■ Rising Star: Age is no barrier as long as this person is relatively new to the residentia­l property industry, within the past five years, and are succeeding beyond expectatio­n.
