Time to sell... and to wake up to Wakey

-

Our story above reveals that now is the best time to sell your home, due to historically low levels of property on the market.

However, there may only be a short window as the supply and demand issue caused by the pandemic could right itself soon. Agents are being called out to do more valuations as home owners consider whether to put the “For Sale” sign up in Spring.

This points to the market slipping back into its usual pattern with Spring and Autumn the busiest periods and deepest winter and the summer holiday period, the least frantic.

Agency staff, surveyors and conveyancers will no doubt breathe a sigh of relief if this comes to pass. Some have not had a decent break for months and stress levels are high.

Meanwhile, the soaraway price increases we witnessed last year are set to ease and are likely to be replaced with more steady growth, which is also good news, especially for first-time buyers.

For those looking for value, our feature on the WF (Wakefield) postcode areas may be of interest, WF includes a host of towns and villages in what some would describe as “Proper Yorkshire”. The house prices there are lower than those in the Golden Trangle and they come with many benefits including great community spirit, good schools and easy access to countryside and culture and to motorways.

The Hepworth, one of Britain’s loveliest racecourses – Pontefract, and, of course, the Yorkshire Sculpture

Park are here.
