Town booming for plans and buildings

Survey: Huddersfield had the highest number of successful planning applications per head, with 850 per 100,000 people.

York was in second place with 649, followed by Leeds with 575.

The study, by clothes2order, reveals that four out of the top five towns and cities were in Yorkshire, showing the region is experiencing high levels of growth in the construction market.

Huddersfield also has the biggest building boom in the UK with a score of 7.92, followed closely by Warrington, with a score of 7.15.
