Poor pay in high house price areas

Analysis: Richmondshire, which includes a large part of the Dales, has the lowest average pay in Yorkshire at £377.30 a week, according to employment experts Digital ID, which analysed ONS data on gross weekly wages in every local authority in the UK.

Craven, which includes the market town of Skipton and parts of the Southern Dales, has the second lowest pay in the region with £399.40 a week.

Both areas are property hotspots, which means that those saving to get on the property ladder face an uphill battle.
