Get ready for a new TV series in the Dales

Exciting news this week for those who love the Yorkshire Dales. Don’t we all?

A new TV series Dales for Sale begins on the Really channel at 9pm on March 14 and having had a preview, I can report that it is hugely enjoyable.

As our Property Post feature this week reveals, it follows staff from Richmond-based estate agency Marcus Alderson as they carry out valuations and viewings and deal with the huge amount of interest in the homes they have for sale.

Would-be buyers come from all over Britain and beyond. The stunning scenery is the star, of course, and the cameras also take a tour of the properties for sale.

It’s a feel-good show and, for once, it proves that most provincial estate agents do not deserve the poor reputation they have acquired, largely because of the sharp practices often highlighted in London.

The story above focuses on a well-respected company, Moda Living, which is part of the Wetherby-based Caddick Group.

Moda specialises in building and running amenity rich build to rent apartments. The remarkable Angel Gardens in Manchester city centre was its first project and its latest scheme, New York Square, is about to open in Leeds.

It is, says Moda MD Johnny Caddick, the start of a sea change which will see more people renting for life by choice. I can believe it too. The best build to rent schemes are not just luxurious, they are designed to bring tenants together and create communities.
